On the Road to European Integration: Challenges in the Field of Environmental Protection

On Thursday, February 1, 2024, representatives of the IUS SDG Committee attended the conference "On the Road to European Integration: Challenges in the Field of Environmental Protection." The conference took place at Europe House in Sarajevo, in joint cooperation with the French Embassy in BiH, the French Institute in BiH, the Impakt Investment Foundation, and Europe House. The guest lecturers included prominent individuals from BiH and France, representing the government, NGO sectors, as well as researchers and activists.

During the conference on climate and biodiversity, the urgent need for the countries of the Western Balkans to align with the ambitious environmental and climate goals of the European Union was discussed. In a time marked by rapid changes in demographics, technology, and the economy, this event highlighted the importance of decisive and coordinated actions in various areas of politics to create a sustainable future.

IUS is proud of the fact that for many years, it has dedicated a significant part of its activities to intensifying the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals and socially responsible and environmental actions, which are incorporated into its new University Development Strategy.
